How much and what kind of wood do I need for a bath in the barrel?

Basically, any type of wood and branches can be used. We recommend wood that produces a lot of flames and gives off heat quickly (e.g. spruce wood). For heating, it is comfortable if the logs are about 25-30 cm long. The thinner the logs, the faster the water will heat up. We recommend a log diameter of about 3-5 cm.

The barrel is delivered on a wooden pallet, which you can also break down and use for heating.

How much wood you need depends on the following factors: water temperature, air temperature and wood calorific value. To heat up once, you need about as much wood as will fit in a 30x30x100 cm box. With one cubic meter of wood, you can heat up about 11 times.

On what surface can I place the firewater barrel?

The location must be horizontal and able to support a load of at least two tons. Stable surfaces such as stone or exposed aggregate concrete slabs are well suited. It is important that the barrel is not at an angle and does not sink when full. The outdoor oven must be at the same height as the barrel. There should be around one meter of space around the oven. We recommend a stable substructure measuring 3.10 x 2.6 m.

How does the outdoor oven work?

The outdoor oven has a double wall between which the water is placed, which is heated by the fire in the oven. The barrel and the oven are connected to each other via two hoses. Cold water is sucked into the oven via the lower hose and heated there. The warm water rises and automatically flows back into the hot tub via the upper hose.

What happens to the water after bathing?

We recommend changing the bath water after each bath - just like when bathing in the bathtub. Feuerwasser has consciously decided against using water treatment systems that require chlorine and electricity. The waste water can be used very well for watering and irrigating the garden.

How does the cleaning of Feuerwasser products work?

The Feuerwasser products are easy to maintain: clean the inner tub with soapy water (with a soft cloth or sponge, please do not use abrasive sponges, steel wool or aggressive abrasives), empty the ashes from the stove regularly and varnish the wood as needed.

Depending on the humidity and sunlight, the wood will change, which may cause some screws to become loose. You can easily tighten them yourself.
