step 2

Heating up

1. Put thinly chopped wood and, if necessary, some paper into the combustion chamber.

2. Attention! Before lighting the fire, check the water level and that the exhaust pipe is secure. The stove must never be heated without being completely surrounded by water.

3. Light the fire using a barbecue lighter. Be careful, do not use liquid lighting aids!

4. Only heat the firewater stove with natural and dry wood. Coal is not permitted and is not functional.

5. Make a nice fire, adding small logs regularly.

6. You can regulate the air supply by turning the oven door.

7. It is best to mix the different warm water layers approximately every 15 minutes.

8. Keep the oven burning until the water has reached approximately the temperature you want. Remember that the embers in the oven will continue to heat up. Depending on the wood and the heating technique, heating will take between 45 and 70 minutes.

Step 4

cleaning

1. Wait until there are no more embers in the heater of the heated bathtub.

2. Only now can you let the water drain away so that the oven does not suffer any damage (e.g. warping due to heat). You can let most of the water drain away via the garden hose that is already attached to the ball valve. This way you can use the water for watering or direct it directly into the nearest drain. There are two ways to drain the remaining water or the entire volume of water:
• You can prepare a drainage below the drain valve where the water can seep away.
• You can mount a drain bend (see accessories) on the drain valve, attach a garden hose (1 inch) to it and direct the water directly into a drain.

3. Remove the exhaust pipe and other accessories (tables, backrests, cup holders, etc.), remove the ash from the oven using an ash shovel, clean the tub with water, and use a disinfectant if necessary.

4. Let the tub dry thoroughly so that no bacteria or fungi can settle.

5. Place the tarpaulin on the clean and dry tub and secure the tarpaulin with the elastic bands.

General information

1. You need a horizontal, stable location for the firewater tub. It must be able to support at least 600 kg. A base made of stone, exposed aggregate concrete slabs or similar is very convenient.

2. Remember that the side of the tub with the inner oven should have sufficient distance from buildings and trees.

3. There is a ball valve mounted at the foot of the tub. Connect a standard 1/2 inch garden hose to it using a Gardena click valve. This allows you to easily fill and empty the tub with water.
