The Outdoor Bathtub is delivered fully assembled. Only the exhaust pipe needs to be attached.

For the Stainless Steel Hot Tub and the Wood-fired Hot Tub, only the external heater needs to be connected. This is easily done in a few steps using the instruction manual.

The Outdoor Shower is delivered disassembled and needs to be assembled. Special attention was paid to simple assembly, so that the setup can easily be done yourself with the enclosed instruction manual and takes about 10 minutes.

We recommend changing the bathwater after every bath – just like bathing in a regular bathtub. Feuerwasser has consciously decided against using water treatment systems that require chlorine and electricity. The wastewater can very well be used for watering and irrigation in the garden.

Feuerwasser products are easy to maintain: clean the inner tub with soapy water (using a soft cloth or sponge, please do not use scratching sponges, steel wool, or aggressive scouring agents) and empty the ash from the stove regularly. The stainless steel can be polished with stainless steel care oil. The wood can be treated with wood care oil or re-glazed as needed.

Depending on humidity and sunlight, the wood expands and contracts, which may require tightening of screws from time to time.

We recommend protecting the products with their respective covers.

Questions about the Feuerwasser Outdoor Shower

How much wood is needed per shower with the outdoor shower?

The outdoor shower works as a highly efficient wood-fired instantaneous water heater. A single filling of the firebox is enough for a warm shower lasting about 5 to 10 minutes. For this, you need approximately 1-2 large logs, chopped into small pieces.

Important: Use thin wood (approx. 1–3 cm in diameter). Since the water is heated by the flames, a lively fire is essential, rather than glowing embers.

Duration: Depending on the initial water temperature, flow rate, and desired heat, you can shower with a single filling without needing to add more wood. For longer showers or multiple people, simply add small amounts of wood to the fire continuously.

After just 5 minutes. A strong fire with high flames is important. Since the outdoor shower works as a wood-fired instantaneous water heater, the water is heated directly by the flames and is ready to use immediately after this short heat-up time.

Cold water: Once the water connection is set up, you can shower for an unlimited time.

Warm water: After a short heat-up time of about 5 minutes, the outdoor shower provides continuous warm water, as long as you regularly add small pieces of wood. The continuous flow system allows multiple people to take a warm shower one after the other without interruption.

No. Our patented instantaneous water heater is equipped with multiple safety features and protected against thermal overheating. Should the water inside the firebox jacket reach 99 °C, a thermal relief valve opens. The hot water is then discharged downwards through the base in a controlled manner, while cold water is automatically fed in from the water supply.

The outdoor shower is simply supplied with water via a garden hose connected to the base. First, the shower is completely filled with water by opening the showerhead until no more air escapes. Next, a strong fire is built in the firebox, which heats the water surrounding it. After a few minutes, the desired temperature can be set using the mixing valve, and you can enjoy a warm shower for as long as the fire is burning. After showering, the garden hose is disconnected and the drain valve is opened so that the water can drain completely from the shower.

Yes, you can use the Feuerwasser outdoor shower in winter just as usual.

It is important that you follow these 3 steps after using the shower in freezing temperatures:

  1. Open the red drain valve as usual after showering.

  2. Remove the hand shower and hose from the valve and ensure that the valve is open.

  3. Turn the mixing valve once to cold and once to hot so that any remaining drops of water can escape.

This ensures all parts of the shower are completely drained of water and winter-proof.

The Feuerwasser outdoor shower is very low-maintenance and easy to care for. Regularly remove the ashes from the stove. If a valve or seal ever needs to be replaced, we are happy to help.

Every Feuerwasser outdoor shower comes with a mounting base for concrete surfaces. This base is anchored to the ground using three screws; the foot of the shower is then placed over it and secured from the side with screws.

Alternatively, you can purchase the slab stand in our shop, which allows you to set up the outdoor shower flexibly anywhere. Four standard paving slabs (40x40x4 cm) are sufficient to ensure a secure hold.

During regular operation, the surface of the firebox remains safe to touch, as it is continuously cooled by the flowing water. Only in exceptional cases – when a fire is burning while no water is flowing or the water supply has been turned off – can the surface temperature reach up to 99 °C.

Only light the fire once the water supply is established, and leave the water in the system as long as there is residual heat to prevent “dry heating”.

Questions about the Feuerwasser Outdoor Bathtub

How much and what kind of wood do I need for a bath in the outdoor bathtub?

Basically, any type of wood and branches can be used for the outdoor bathtub. We recommend wood that releases heat quickly (e.g., spruce wood). For heating, it is convenient if the logs are about 25-30 cm long. The thinner the logs are, the faster the water heats up. We recommend a log diameter of approx. 3-5 cm.

The outdoor bathtub is delivered on a wooden pallet, which you can also chop up and use for firewood.

How much wood you need depends on the following factors: water temperature, air temperature, and the calorific value of the wood. For one heating cycle, you will need roughly enough wood to fill a 30x30x50 cm box. With one cubic meter of wood, you can heat the tub about 20 times.

The location for the outdoor bathtub must be level and able to support a load of at least 600 kg. Stable surfaces, such as stone or exposed aggregate concrete slabs, are well suited.

The fire heats the bathwater surrounding the stove. There are four heat exchangers that guide the water through the stove of the outdoor bathtub, thereby increasing the efficiency.

Questions about the Feuerwasser Wood-fired Hot Tub

What kind of surface can I place the Wood-fired Hot Tub on?

The location for the wood-fired hot tub must be level and able to support a load of at least 2 tons. Stable surfaces, such as stone or exposed aggregate concrete slabs, are well suited. It is important that the wood-fired hot tub is not tilted and does not sink in when filled. The external stove must fit next to the hot tub at the same level. A clearance of about one meter should be left around the stove. We recommend a stable substructure with dimensions of 3.10 x 2.6 m.

Basically, any type of wood and branches can be used, but we recommend wood that produces large flames and releases heat quickly (e.g., spruce wood). For heating, it is convenient if the logs are about 25-40 cm long. The thinner the logs are, the faster the water heats up. We recommend a log diameter of approx. 3-5 cm.

How much wood you need depends on the following factors: water temperature, air temperature, and the calorific value of the wood. For one heating cycle, you will need roughly enough wood to fill a 40x30x100 cm box. With one cubic meter of wood, you can heat the tub about 9 times.

The external stove features a double wall containing the water, which is heated by the fire in the stove. The wood-fired hot tub and the stove are connected to each other via two hoses. Cold water is drawn into the stove through the lower hose and heated there. The warm water rises and automatically flows back into the hot tub through the upper hose.

Questions about the Feuerwasser Stainless Steel Hot Tub

How thick is the stainless steel of the hot tub?

The basin of the stainless steel hot tub is made of 2-4 mm thick V4A stainless steel. Since this basin is pressed from a single sheet, the stainless steel wall is thicker at the bottom than at the top and has no seams.

The location must be level and able to support a load of at least 1.2 tons. Stable surfaces, such as stone or exposed aggregate concrete slabs, are well suited. It is important that the stainless steel hot tub is not tilted and does not sink in when filled. The external stove must fit next to the hot tub at the same level. A clearance of about one meter should be left around the stove. We recommend a stable substructure with dimensions of 3.10 x 2.6 m.
